The functional areas of the house are spread in “units” that create interesting circulation and different moments inside the house. The chosen layout tries to use the natural light from all directions, achieving the simple, calm, elegant feeling to fit the family’s needs.
On the ground floor, the entrance hallway leads to a guest room on the north side and living/dining area that extends to a garden facing south. The living area also enjoys a cosy patio facing west. The kitchen is half opened next to the dining area and is also connected to the outdoor social/dining space. The children’s bedrooms, playroom and master bedrooms are gathered in the private area on the west side of the house, with its patios created naturally by each room.
Upstairs, the library/studio room has its own patio, which also opens to the terrace like the traditional Portuguese Açoteia.
