This house is designed for a family with two young children. It is very close to the Ribamar coast, and located in a plot with a deep slope facing northwest with the amazing sea/mountain view. The main challenge was to provide the best views possible from the social areas of the house, and at the same time creating comfortable outdoor areas protected from the cold north wind. It was decided to have an inverted living solution, where the bedrooms are located on the basement level, connected directly with the garden.
The main shape of the house is the result of a “meeting” between traditional architecture and contemporary lifestyle.
On the entrance floor, there is an open kitchen and dining area, half open to the living area, which enjoys the best view on both west and north sides, also created a protected outdoor terrace space on the Southeast corner. The guest bedroom is on the west side, the other three private bedrooms, laundry and bathrooms are on the lower level.
