This well-known bookstore is located at the most fashionable area Sanlitun in Beijing. Our design objective is: first of all, introducing a new visual experience of the bookstore, based on respecting its own original character, status and the location, make sure the final result is smoothly joining the new and old together. Secondly, optimizing and upgrading the functions of the store, fitting into the business model, making the whole space more flexible, and enhancing the customer experience.
The handrail side of the staircase is turned into a book wall, in order to increase the space visual effect from outside and create an interior space atmosphere. The open bar and flexible events area on the second floor, improves the functionality of the space and creates an interesting dynamic. The north-west corner favored by the natural light is turned into a cozy wooden box as the “writers’ corner” concept, which becomes the highlight of the space.
